John & Edna Fuller Scholarship

John J. Fuller worked for over 50 years in public education after receiving a bachelor’s degree from Bowling Green University, a master’s degree from Teachers College at Columbia University and a doctorate from Ohio State University. He had been the recipient of two Fulbright grants to lecture on public education in the Philippines. Dr. Fuller was a professor of education at Winona State University for 21 years before retiring in 1968 when he was named professor emeritus. He passed away on August 18, 1988, at the age of 88.
Edna Fuller, John’s wife of 62 years, also contributed to the field of education as a teacher for almost 50 years. She supervised student teachers at Winona State for many years and was active in local community and educational organizations. John and Edna’s two daughters, Elaine and Jacqueline, are graduates of Winona State University and are professors in higher education.
