Jamie Ann Meyers Scholarship
In September 2022, the Jamie Ann Meyers scholarship was established with the Winona State University Foundation. This scholarship will benefit and encourage students who are majoring in Geosciences.

Background and Motivation
Jamie Ann Meyers grew up in southeastern Pennsylvania and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania where she majored in
geology. She earned her Doctorate Degree in Geology/Sedimentology from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana.
Following graduation in 1970 she became a professor of geology at Muskingum College in New Concord, OH where she taught for 9 years. In 1980 she moved with her family to Winona, Minnesota where she joined the faculty of Winona State University Geology Department. She was chairman of the Geology Department for 12 years. During the early years of the World Wide Web she worked with the WSU IT department to develop a Geology Department web page and provide course content online. She taught at WSU until she retired in 2010. Jamie Ann was also a member of the Indiana University Geologic Field Station summer program as a faculty member in Montana for 28 consecutive years.
After her retirement she stayed busy with geology field research, travel, golf, and advocacy work.
