Borhart Scholarship

In March, 2022, the Borhart Scholarship was established with the the Winona State University Foundation.

Criteria

1. Undergraduate/graduate
2. Full time = 12 credits per semester Undergrad or 3 credits per semester Graduate
3. Any Major
4. Financial need based on essay
5. 3.0 GPA or higher
6. LGBTQIA+ Preference
7. Have history or current activity with community service.

Background and Motivation
Brittany Borhart is a WSU alumni (class of 2011 for undergrad and 2020 for grad). Brittany and Ellen were married in 2018. They both work in healthcare, with Brittany working as both a nurse and nursing professor while Ellen works as a nurse anesthetist. They are passionate about supporting students who identify with the LGBTQIA+ community and want to show students that LGBTQIA+ persons can be successful in both their personal lives and careers. They value “giving back” and want to make an impact on future leaders.
