Isaac Bera Scholarship

The Isaac Bera Memorial Scholarship is created to provide assistance to promising students who are seeking a degree in History. Preference will be for a non-traditional student.

Criteria

Each recipient must be an undergraduate student sophomore, junior or senior enrolled full or part-time at WSU
Each recipient must maintain a g.p.a. of 2.5
Preference will be for a non-traditional student
Each recipient must write a one page essay describing Why you love history.

Biography/Motivation

Isaac was born April 16, 1981, in the Dominican Republic to Melvin Bera and Beth Heim de Bera. At the age of five, Isaac moved with his family to St. Charles where he attended kindergarten. He then moved to Rochester where he graduated from John Marshall High School in 1999. In May of this year Isaac graduated from Winona State University with a degree in history.
Isaac loved sports and kids. He was a junior high volunteer coach while in Winona and a much beloved babysitter. He also loved history and was a voracious reader who loved to talk politics with his grandpa. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his friends and family.
Isaac W. Bera, 29, of Rochester passed June 22, 2010, in Rochester.
