James & Phyllis Sands Education Scholarship

After graduating from Winona State in December, 1959 with a B.S. in Education, I got a job teaching at Kasson-Mantorville. I was there 32 years as a teacher and athletic director. I met my wife, Phyllis, who was a K-M kindergarten teacher in Kasson. We were on the K-M staff for a total of 65 years and were privileged to be part of the lives of many young people.

It has been a rewarding and gratifying life for us and our family and now we would like to help someone have a similar opportunity. We know that teaching is a profession that can support and impact young lives and we are proud to be known as teachers.
