Kappa Delta Pi/Dr. Jeanne Ehlinger Scholarship
Dr. Jeanne Ehlinger was an associate professor in the Winona State University Department of Education from September 1988 until the time of her death on February 26, 1994. During hr years at WSU, Jeanne was responsible for establishing the Middle School Licensure Program. She was a valued meiriber of many university committees and contributed to the profession through active involvement in professional educational organizations at the national level. She was instrumental in reactivating WSU’s Gamma Tau Chapter of Kappa Delta Pi after a ten-year period of inactivity.
Dr. Ehlinger received her Doctorate of Education with honors from Indiana University where she also received an outstanding dissertation award. She obtained her bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and her master’s degree from the
University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. A native of Wisconsin, Jeanne served the Waukesha, Wisconsin Public schools in a number of roles from 1970 to 1988. She was active in Waukesha and Wisconsin Education Associations and helped to develop the school district planetarium.
