Marie Krueger Scholarship

Erma Marie Nelson Krueger, the mother of Winona State University’s thirteenth president, Darrell Krueger, was a gifted educator. She devoted much of her life to teaching at Cedar City, Hurricane, Bicknel and Box Elder high schools and Southern Utah University, serving as department chair in home economics and consumer education at Utah State University. She was recognized by the American Home Economics Association as an outstanding home economist. She and her husband, William Thomas Krueger, served a mission in Nauvoo, Illinois. At the time of her death on January 11, 1993, Marie was serving a teaching mission at Brigham Young University Hawaii.

She is remembered by her thousands of students as one of their favorite teachers and has been recognized for her everlasting impact on families through her teaching and the teachers she taught.
