Special Education Student Teaching Scholarship

Special Education Student Teaching Scholarship

Jeanne E. (Nelson) Danneker earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Winona State University in 1978, majoring in Special Education/Learning Disabilities and Elementary Education. She taught special education at the elementary level for 18 years. During that time she also earned a Master’s degree in Emotional Behavior Disorders from UW-La Crosse. She earned her Ph. D. in Special Education from UW-Madison in 2004 and returned to Winona State as an Assistant Professor in 2007. Dr. Danneker recognized the tremendous sacrifices made by Special Education majors, particularly during their student teaching semesters. She started this scholarship to provide financial support and express her respect and appreciation for their work.
