Warrior Football Scholarship

The Warrior Football Scholarship was established in 2004 by Merle J. Peterson to promote student athletes and to advocate alumni and friends to become part of the Warrior Football Program.

Merle graduated from Winona State Teacher’s College in 1955, he played on the offensive and defensive lines on the WSU Football team. Merle’s attendance at Winona State and his participation with Warrior football changed his life. After graduation from Blooming Prairie High School, he joined the Army, proudly serving his country during the Korean War. Merle was an educator in St. Charles and Rochester, MN for 31 years.
