Samuel & LaVonne Schneider Education Scholarship

In April, 2018, Samuel and LaVonne Schneider Education Scholarship was established with the Winona State University Foundation. The scholarship will benefit and encourage students who are majoring in Elementary or Secondary Education.

Criteria
1. Recipients must be an undergraduate student enrolled full-time and in good standing at Winona State University (minimum of 12 credits per semester, Fall and Spring).
2. Recipients must have a declared major in Elementary or Secondary Education.
3. Recipients must be a Freshman or a Sophomore. If they are a Freshman, high school GPA must be a 3.5 or higher. Sophomore recipients must have a 3.5 WSU cumulative GPA or higher.

Background and Motivation
We are both WSU Graduates: Samuel (B.S. 1956; MS 1965) History- Social Science, Secondary Education and LaVonne (B.S. 1970) in Elementary Education. Our Experience at WSU was very positive and we enjoyed teaching for many years. We want to give back to the community and establish a scholarship for students dedicating their future to teaching and educating the youth of tomorrow.
