Coulee Rock Club Scholarship

The Coulee Rock Club Scholarship is created for students majoring in geoscience at WSU.

Criteria

1. Each recipient must be a declared Geoscience major
2. Each recipient must be a Sophomore, Junior or Senior
3. Each recipient must have a G.P.A of 3.0 or higher.
4. Each recipient must be a resident of Minnesota or Wisconsin.

Biography/Motivation

On November 28, 1961, ten people who were interested in rocks formed a club. At the third meeting, the name of the club was selected, The Coulee Rock Club. On March, 1964 incorporating the club as a non-profit organization was proposed and by-laws were written (Incorporated April, 1973) and an application for membership in the Midwest Federation (MWF) was completed and accepted at MWFs November meeting. Scholarships were established in 1981, the donations were made to the Federation and the club established an annual scholarship with Winona State University for $1000, with increases since then.
