Joshua Carl Rumpca Scholarship

The Joshua Carl Rumpca Scholarship is created to give assistance to students who aspire to receive a music degree from WSU.

Criteria

Preference for a student from a high school in Minnesota
Each recipient must have a minimum G.P.A. of 3.0
Each applicant must be an undergraduate student, enrolled full-time (i.e., minimum of twelve credits per semester) at Winona State University
Each applicant must be admitted to the Music Department at Winona State University
Each applicant must write a 1- 2 page essay describing their involvement with music
Each applicant must complete the scholarship application and submit all requested support materials

Biography/Motivation

Joshua Rumpca has been described as having a dynamic presence and you couldnt help but feel his intensity and his love when you were with him. Josh was known for his determination-he always tried to achieve his goals. He was a generous friend and kindhearted to all whom knew him.
As a small child he learned the importance of his grandfather Pops, and treasured the many hours playing at Kens Auto Body shop. Joshua spent his summer vacations at Pops, making friends with employees and customers, enjoying many stories and days at Pops home. He especially enjoyed his Uncle Scott who would take him to the park, listening to music and riding around in his car. Joshua loved his family and being around his friends
Joshua was a student at Winona State University before his untimely death in June, 2005. He is fondly remembered by all who knew him. As a student, he touched the hearts and minds of his many fellow classmates
