Glenn & Anita (Sundby) Anderson Scholarship
The Glen and Anita (Sundby) Anderson Scholarship is created to give assistance to students who aspire to teach, desire to energize young minds and become a distinguished teacher. Students must be a sophomore, junior, and senior undergraduate enrolled full-time. Students must also be a Math/Science education teaching major.
Criteria
Each applicant must be a sophomore/junior/senior undergraduate student enrolled full-time (i.e., minimum of twelve credits per semester) at Winona State University
Each applicant must be a Math/Science education teaching major at Winona State University
Each applicant must demonstrate financial need
Each applicant must have a 3.0 grade point average (4.0 g.p.a.=A)
Biography/Motivation
Anita Anderson graduated from WSTC in 1940 with a teaching degree in Math and History. Anita and Glenn are originally from Minnesota, Anita taught a total of 35 years, she first taught 8 years in Minnesota schools and dedicated 27 years teaching in Canby, Minnesota, her devoted spouse Glenn owned a store in Canby, in 1984 they retired to Arizona. Anita and Glenn are Charter members of the 1858 Founders Society, recognizing benefactors who have included WSU in their estate plans.
During their long and productive careers they touched the lives of thousands of students and community groups. Their commitment to education and the betterment of the lives of young people is reflected in those they have touched.
The Glenn and Anita (Sundby) Anderson Scholarship Fund will provide an opportunity to an aspiring young teacher to continue to reflect the efforts of Glenn and Anita (Sundby) Anderson in touching and enriching lives of others.
