Minnesota Society of CPA's Scholarship

The Minnesota Society of CPAs Scholarship is created for junior or senior students who have declared a major in Accounting at WSU and have a commitment to sit for the CPA Exam.

Criteria

1. Each recipient must be an undergraduate enrolled full-time and in good standing at Winona State University (minimum of 12 credits per semester, Fall and Spring)
2. Accounting major in junior or senior year.
3. GPA of 3.25 or higher.
4. Documented financial need.
5. Intent to it for the CPA exam.

The intent of the Minnesota Society of CPA’s is establishing this scholarship is that 100% of the scholarship award must benefit the student recipient. The scholarship must not reduce grant-based financial aid from any source. The amount of the scholarship must be used to reduce only loan-based aid.

Biography/Motivation

The Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2004. From the beginning, CPA’s have crafted regulation and education to maintain high professional standards for their clients, employers, and the public.

The Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants Education Fund, a fund within the MNCPA, has long history of providing scholarships to accounting students at Winona State University. The Board of Directors of the Education Fund has decide to establish a named endowment for accounting scholarships at Winona State University.
