Etta Howell

The Etta Howell Scholarship is created to encourage and support students who have declared a major in Elementary Education at WSU. The student must demonstrate ability and promise in his/her chosen major.

Criteria

1. Each recipient must be an undergraduate student enrolled full-time and in good standing at Winona State University (minimum of 12 credits per semester, Fall and Spring)
2. Each recipient must be a declared Elementary Education major
3. Each recipient must be a Sophomore, Junior, Senior
4. Each recipient must have a G.P.A of 2.75 or higher. However, g.p.a should not be considered primary criteria.
5. Preference will be given to students who demonstrate financial need, but need should not be based solely on FAFSA.

Etta H. Howell, a friend of the university, generously left a portion of her estate to Winona State University to fund scholarship for education majors
