International Student Athlete Leadership Scholarship

In April of 2022, the International Student Athlete Leadership Scholarship was established as an annual fund in the Winona State University Foundation. This scholarship will benefit and encourage international students who are athletes of any major taking twelve or more credits per semester.

Criteria
Student must meet the following criteria:
• Undergraduate
• Full time = 12 credits per semester
• No specific declared major
• Must be an international student athlete with a financial need
• GPA of at least 2.5 or higher

*Background and Motivation *
This scholarship was created because Waihon ran track at WSU in the early 1990’s and has a passion for WSU and WSU athletics. Although Waihon moved out of the area after graduating from WSU, he considers WSU “home” and wants help students who have the desire to be outstanding students, athletes, and community leaders.
