Background and Motivation
In March 1937, I was born in my house on our farm in rural Lake City, MN. I was educated in a K-8 country school and spent four years in Lake City High School. In the fall of 1954, I enrolled at Winona State University.

My degrees in Elementary Education enhanced my life in every way. Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Reading Specialist degrees gave me the opportunity to teach young children basic skills, guide them socially and emotionally, teach them values, and show them how to love! Personally, I have been fortunate to foster lifetime friendships with colleagues and people in the community.

My education at WSU has given me a wonderful life and I am so happy I can help other students as donors have helped me with scholarships. WSU is the place to be for future success in education!
