Ormsin & Harry Gardiner Wellness Scholarship

Ormsin and Harry Gardiner established The Ormsin and Harry Gardiner Wellness Scholarship with the Winona State University Foundation. The purpose of the fund is to encourage and support students majoring in Health, Exercise and Rehabilitative Sciences, Physical Education and Sports Science or Nursing who are actively involved in programming in the WSU Fitness Center and whose future goals include impacting lives.

Criteria
1. Each recipient must be enrolled in and successfully complete a minimum of 12 credits per semester (Fall and Spring) and in good standing at Winona State University.
2. Each recipient must have a declared major in HERS, PESS or Nursing.
3. Each recipient must demonstrate financial need, but need should not be based solely on FAFSA.
4. Each recipient must have a G.P.A. of 3.25 or higher. However, G.P.A. should not be considered primary criteria.

Biography/Motivation
Ormsin and Harry have been long-time participants in Fitness Center programming and are inspired by the students who have played a role in their personal wellness journey. They have established this scholarship to encourage and support students who are will benefit from motivation toward the successful completion of their academic goals. The Gardiners have requested that the Fitness Center staff serve on the selection committee as they play a significant role in the social and growth of these students.
