The Mark & Cathy Nichols Business Administration Scholarship

The Mark and Cathy Nichols Business Administration Scholarship is established to encourage and support students majoring in Business Administration who demonstrate a strong work ethic and entrepreneurial drive and spirit.

Criteria

1. Each recipient must be enrolled full-time and in good standing at Winona State University (minimum of 12 credits per semester, Fall and Spring).
2. Each recipient must have declared and been accepted into the Business Administration program in the College of Business.
3. Each recipient must demonstrate financial need, but need should not be based solely on FASFA.
4. Students receiving a tuition waiver are not eligible.
5. Each recipient must have a G.P.A. of 2.5 or higher. However, G.P.A. should not be considered primary criteria.
6. While not primary considerations, the following are preferences when applicable:

  • Preference will be given to a student who has demonstrated an entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Preference will be given to a student who is employed on or off campus or has a valid reason for not working.
  • Preference should be given to a student who comes from a single-parent family.

Biography/Motivation

Mark and Cathie graduated from WSU in 1978. Mark graduated in Business Administration, and Cathie earned her degree in Education.
Mark and Cathie wish to help students with financial needs attend college.
