International Student Success Scholarship

In December 2015, International Student Success Scholarship was established as an annual scholarship with the Winona State University Foundation. The scholarship will benefit and encourage Winona State Universitys International Students.

Criteria

1. Each recipient must be student enrolled and in good standing at Winona State University. Preference will be given to students who are enrolled in 12 credits each semester.
2. Each recipient must be an International Student
3. Each recipient must be Junior or Senior
4. Each recipient must demonstrate financial need. Preference will be given to students who are employed while enrolled.
5. As part of the application process for this scholarship, the student must submit an essay describing the following:
a. Explain your financial need and why this scholarship will make a difference.
b. Explain how you have demonstrated leadership by your involvement at WSU or community activities.

Biography/Motivation

The mission of the International Services is to provide support to WSU international students, scholars and families, enabling them to achieve their academic and professional goals. International Services is a primary resource for non-immigrant students and scholars at WSU and assists international students with transition to the US culture and achieve their goals.

International Students make valuable contributions to the WSU community. Studying and engaging with the best young minds from around the world enriches the lives of our students and increases their comfort with different cultures, skills increasingly needed to excel in todays global economy.
