Biography/Motivation
Michael Garvey earned an MBA Winona State University in 1991. He joined the staff of Hormel Foods, worked for 3M, P&G and the Vaccine Division of Merck Pharmaceuticals. Throughout his 15-year career in corporate sales, Michael earned several top sales awards and successfully managed key accounts including Target, Staples and the State of New York.
My experience at WSU helped prepare me for a career in corporate sales and marketing. I was awarded a graduate assistantship, gaining valuable business experience with the Winona Small Business Development Center. This experience provided the springboard for a very successful career in corporate sales. The faculty at WSU encouraged both my education and my willingness to try new endeavors. My hope for this endowment is that students will be relieved of a financial burden, allowing them a little more time to pursue the interests that they find rewarding.
