Background and Motivation
Chip Comadoll, MD, received his medical degree and did his orthopedic surgery training at the University of Minnesota. He moved to North Carolina with his wife, Kari, and raised three children in a town the size of Winona. He specializes in hip and knee surgeries and has been the team physician for Catawba College, a division II program for 26 years. Dr. Comadoll is an innovative and progressive orthopedic surgeon and strives to incorporate the latest technology in his practice. Dr. Comadoll is nationally known as a leader in Total Joint Replacements. He is the first in his region to integrate anterior hip replacement, hip resurfacing, and partial knee replacement and computer assisted total joint replacement in his practice.
Kari spent three years at WSU before finishing her degree in Physical Therapy at the University of Minnesota. Chip & Kari met while attending WSU. Comadoll calls his wife, Kari, the best thing in the world. The couple has three children: daughter Shea, a student at Wake Forest School of Medicine, and sons Lucas and Clint, both graduates of Appalachian State University. All children graduated with chemistry degrees.
Dr. Comadoll enjoyed his years spent at WSU especially in the chemistry department and with the science professors. He started out playing football his freshman year and then switched to all academic studies his sophomore year. In 2006, Chip was honored with Winona State University’s Distinguished Alumni Award.
Dr. Comadoll made it through undergrad on scholarships and would like to pay it back/forward to help others.
