Joyce Bergquist (Anderson) Memorial Scholarship

In September of 2024 the Joyce Bergquist (Anderson) Scholarship was established with the Winona State University Foundation. The scholarship will benefit and encourage students who are majoring in Education.

Criteria
• Undergraduate
• Full time (12 credits per semester)
• Declared major of Education
• Class year of a Junior or Senior
• Financial need

Background and Motivation
Joyce grew up in Mt. Iron, MN and lived her whole life in Minnesota. She was an athlete and artist. Joyce was a beloved sister, mother, grandmother who died January 23, 1974 at age 54. She wanted to attend college but had no financial resources to do so. This scholarship in her name is to help someone achieve their goal that she could not achieve herself. This scholarship is funded by her family including Dale Pat Anderson (brother) BS ‘64, MS ’67, Jean Ellen Anderson BS ’66, and her immediate family.
