Xcel Energy Supporting Students in STEM

In February, 2025, the Xcel Energy Supporting Students in STEM scholarship was established with the Winona State University Foundation. These scholarships will benefit and encourage students who are majoring in Engineering and Environmental Studies, with a focus on Energy Efficiency.

Criteria

1. Undergraduate
2. Sophomore or Junior class
3. Full time = 12 credits per semester
4. Declared Major(s) of Engineering and/or Environmental Studies within the College of Science and Engineering
5. Financial need
6. Good academic standing

Background and Motivation
Xcel Energy is proud to support the Energy Conservation and Optimization (ECO) Workforce Development scholarship program. This program is designed to support income-qualified students pursuing majors related to careers in energy efficiency with the goal to help create a diverse future workforce. Xcel Energy is proud to power our communities and put good energy into action through supporting individuals through these scholarships and support them on their educational journey.
