Joesph J. Cieminski Family for the Gertrude Finch Scholarship

Miss Gertrude Finch is terminating her services at the end of the first summer session at Winona State College with which she has been associated since 1949, and has been instrumental in the development of programs for training teachers of business education at the college and in the state. She has faithfully and with distinction served the college and the students through her teaching and as Head of the Department of Business Education. Gertrude Finch passed at the age of 93 in Montana.

The Joseph Cieminski Family values learning; cares deeply about students and about the future of society. Don’s love of teaching has left a valuable legacy not only for the students whose lives he touched but for the generations that follow. During his long and distinguished career, he touched the lives of thousands of students. Through his commitment to education, he changed student perspectives and made a positive impact on the future of Minnesota, the region and our world. This scholarship will continue the legacy and the fine tradition of educational excellence that he began.
