Marie Krueger Scholarship
The Marie Krueger Scholarship is created for undergraduate students enrolled full-time.
Criteria
1. Each recipient must be an undergraduate student enrolled full-time (minimum 12 credit hours) at Winona State University.
2. Each recipient must have a high school GPA of 3.3 or higher.
Biography/Motivation
Erma Marie Nelson Krueger, the mother of Winona State University’s thirteenth president, Darrell Krueger, was a gifted educator. She devoted much of her life to teaching: at Cedar City, Hurricane, Bicknel and Box Elder high schools and Southern Utah University, serving as department chair in home economics and consumer education at Utah State University. She was recognized by the American Home Ecohomics. Association as an outstanding home economist. She and her husband, William Thomas Krueger, served a mission in Nauvoo, Illinois. At the time of her death on January 11, 1993, Marie was serving a teaching mission at Brigham Young University Hawaii.
She is remembered by her thousands of students as one of their favorite teachers and has been recognized for her everlasting impact on families through her teaching and the teachers she taught.
